Name of Activity: Interviewing Students: What Makes You Happy?
Unit: PSEL
Learner Profile: Caring
Attitude: Tolerance
This morning, just before lunch, Bao Han and I went around school to interview students about what makes them happy. This is for our class assembly we will have. We video-taped Middle Schoolers, Discovery kids and also teachers about what made them happy. We had our assistant teacher with us so we can ask people we didn't know. It was so much fun! Too bad I wouldn't be at assembly to see the videos on screen :(
How this activity showed being Caring is because when we asked the Discovery kids, since they are still very young, we had to be caring and kind to them so they don't hesitate or think we are mean.
How this activity showed Tolerance is because when we asked the Middle Schoolers and the teachers and the Discovery kids, they all said very unique ideas about what makes them happy and if we didn't like some of them, we wouldn't say: Really? That's the dumbest thing ever. Why would ANYONE like to do THAT?! Nope. We would just play along. We would think: Well, that's what they like to do, so that's what they like to do! We will not judge other people for what makes them happy.
Maybe I could improve on keeping the iPad still while filming because it kept on shaking on one of the videos. Other than that I think it was great!
